THE FAREWELL DISCOURSES

Dear Reader:  This scripture is so named as we find these five chapters of John dedicated to Jesus’ final instructions to His Disciples.  He speaks to them as, together; they climb up to Jerusalem for the last Passover.

We suggest for one’s first reading, that he first has read, HOW WE READ THE HOLY BIBLE. (Posted here.) Please notice where a change in font or brackets indicates change in who is speaking. Sometimes John is explaining detail. Or the author has added a bit.  Much is John quoting Jesus or one of the Twelve. Then please, study JOHN:   Ch. #13 The Bonding.

Later, each will be followed by its own Epilogue, Study Aid.  Please read after one has taken time to think about what he has read. (There is personal value in one’s finding a truth from Scripture.)

This portion of scripture must be read carefully, to keep our proper place in History. Jesus is moving from earth to Heaven and we find that rules and conditions are changing as He speaks.

Repeatedly, Jesus predicts pending, events, to strengthen their faith as He leaves them.  Notice His promises to them / us.

                      Notice His Command to them / us.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT THE THINGS PROMISED HERE, HAVE NOW HAPPENED, before 2010, (EXCEPT for His Return.)
